REQUIRED BY THE COAL MINE WORKERS’ HEALTH SCHEME

If you work in the coal mining industry in Australia, you are required by the Coal Mine Worker’s Health Scheme to undergo a coal board medical. Our doctors have been nominated by mining companies and employers to conduct certified tests, so you can move forward with the employment process.  Both of our doctors are fully trained EMO/AMA Supervising Doctors and can sign off on your Section 4.

Currently our doctors are the only fully trained Supervising Doctors in the Cairns area.

CTL Medical is a fully accredited & registered Spirometry Practice - P0005280

Initial and Periodic Assessments

We perform coal board medical assessments to assist you with being employed as a coal miner and periodically throughout your career in the industry. The Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme requires that you receive a complete assessment at least once every five years.

What to Expect from a Coal Board Medical

The purpose of a coal board medical is to measure your capacity to perform the regular tasks as a coal miner without straining your health. During your assessment, our doctors will examine your skin, vision, hearing, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal system, urinalysis and more.

To test these factors, you can expect a top-to-toe examination, audiometry, spirometry and urine test.

We offer treatment for both acute and chronic medical conditions
